How To Exclude App Placements From Display Campaigns In Google Ads [Updated August 2024]

Recently, with the update to the Google Ads interface, I’ve been asking myself, “Where the heck did they move that too?” I’ve been finding a lot of outdated info on where to find things in the new Google Ads interface (including outdated info on Google Ads support articles). Hope this helps!

Here is how to exclude apps from your display campaign in Google Ads

In the campaign view, navigate to

  • Audiences, keywords, and content
  • Select “Content”

Now you can see “Exclusions”

Click on “edit exclusions” and choose whether you want these exclusions added to the ad group, campaign, or account

Lastly, you can now exclude by topic, placement, and/or keyword. Select “placement” and from the drop-down, remove all app categories you want to have excluded.

Click “save” and you’re good to go!
